Keeping It Real

Keeping It Real – Family Photography – Mount Isa

When this Mount Isa family wanted to let their ‘boys be boys’ in their family photo session I was more than happy to oblige. We were going to be ‘keeping it real!’

As the sun started to set on our private Mount Isa location, we photographed the boys in their natural element, in the dust and mud!”

“The mud will wash off, but the memories will last a lifetime.” – Unknown

After taking some classic family portraits, with the three boys and their mum, this family was ready to have some fun. Little did the boys know that all the fuss of dressing up, combing their hair and wiping their faces would end in an afternoon of laughter and best of all, MUD AND DUST!

What started with some dirt being thrown ended with the whole family rolling around in the dirt, including their family dog. As the boys laughed, played and rolled around, I captured their joy of playing in the natural landscape with their mum. This down to earth family created treasured real life memories all while I snapped away.

Finally they ended in the trough, to keep cool and maybe help mum keep a bit of mud out of the house!

In 2020 I will be photographing this families’ wedding and I am truly looking forward to capturing more magical memories for them (maybe not so much dust and mud!).
